A judge has denied a request by a Clifton child psychiatrist to keep his license while he appeals its revocation by the State Medical Board of Ohio.

Prof. Rajendra (Raj) Persaud a British consultant psychiatrist and broadcaster has admitted to large-scale plagiarism. He is being investigated by the General Medical Council for misconduct.

Now aged 45, he was once described by The Spectator as “the most eminent psychiatrist of the age.”

His career is in ruins now as the GMC began its hearings Monday. The GMC hearing in Manchester said his actions were “inappropriate” and “misleading.” The fitness to practice panel hearing has yet to decide whether his behaviour was dishonest or liable to bring the profession into disrepute.

A Melbourne psychiatrist twice banned for making sexual advances on female patients is fighting to regain his medical registration.

Alfred Harold Leitmanis was struck off the medical register in January 2004 after he allegedly told a patient he dreamed of having sex with her and took her to his house where he tried to kiss her.

Dr Leitmanis had told the woman’s GP he believed she suffered from low self-esteem and sought approval through sexual relationships after she was referred to him in April 2002.

Criminally insane or criminally a genius?!?!

Hospital, News, Psychiatry, Psychotropic drugs, Ranting No Comments

I wasn’t planning to post this because it shows complete stupidity from both the criminal justice and psychatry. Psychiatry is doing one heck of a fine job into controlling our criminal justice with this insanity plea crap that people can choose to take to escape justice and prison time. This case reminds me so much like the movie, one flew over the cuckoo’s nest  (NOTE: SPOILER! SPOILER!)

with Jack Nicholson as Randle Patrick (R. P.) “Mac” McMurphy and Louise Fletcher as Nurse Mildred Ratched, the dictator who drove one of her patients to commit suicide. I don’t condone psychiatric medications to anyone but of all people, in her case she could use a couple of xanax or maybe some anti psychotics to help relax.

Lying psychiatrist struck-off

Fraud, News, Psychiatrist, sex offenders No Comments

A SOUTHALL psychiatrist who groped a nurse and then kissed a policeman’s boot to beg forgiveness has been struck off for lying to get work.

Dr Idowu Otote, 43, of Rutland Road, was banned for 12 months in 2006 for failing to keep his skills up to scratch.

He then claimed in application forms to Gwent and Maudsley NHS trusts that he would be free to practice again by November 17, 2006.

Dr Otote admitted making two inaccurate job applications, but denied dishonesty on the basis it was all a misunderstanding.

He told the GMC he had sent the applications using a draft model answer to the questions, but forgot to check it before he sent them, but he could not explain why there were still “significant differences” between the two.

Panel Chair Howard Freeman said the GMC had “serious concerns” about the way Dr Otote deliberately misled the two health trusts, and found his fitness to practise was impaired.

Roger Dobson reports
Tuesday, 3 June 2008

Spending too much time on the internet? Worried about a low sex drive, shyness or lack of social skills? Or do you lose your temper too easily, blush too readily or spend too much time and money shopping?

Time was when such behaviours might have been regarded as individual differences, or put down to lack of self control and restraint. But not any more. Increasing numbers of behavioural conditions are being treated with drug therapy. Bereavement issues, blushing, low sex drive, high sex drive, sex addiction, lack of orgasm, gambling, fear of public speaking, stealing, domestic violence and phobias are all being targeted with drugs that are either in clinical trials or already available.

MORE than 1,100 psychiatric patients are being held in damp, drab conditions in old-style hospitals that are in dire need of modernisation.

And the scandal is made all the worse as the patients are forced to endure decrepit and Dickensian surroundings in hospitals situated on valuable land, which could be sold to raise funds to improve their living conditions.

The annual report of the Inspectorate of Mental Hospitals of the Mental Health Commission published yesterday painted a grim picture of life inside our psychiatric hospitals.

Fish Oil May Own Big Pharma’s Most Profitable Drugs

Lori Matthews | American Chronicle
Studies have shown that fish oil may make significant improvements on the mental health of people. The active ingredients are needed for the brain to function properly and have a good overall health.

Fish oil is commonly known as Omega-3. It contains EPA or eicosapentaenoic acid and DHA or docosahexaenoic acid. The key stabilizing element in fish oil is EPA. Taking fish oil in supplement form may be healthier than consuming it through fish because all of the toxins of a fish are taken away when the fish oil liquid or capsules are created. Many people don´t eat enough fish or like it so supplementation is preferred.
